Man City face defensive shake-up as Dias and Guehi miss Carabao Cup final
Ruben Dias has been ruled out of the Carabao Cup final at Wembley after suffering a hamstring injury. He was forced off at half-time during City's Champions League exit to Real Madrid and, despite hopes of a quick recovery, failed to prove his fitness in time for the match.
The problem has recurred for the 28-year-old this year: Dias missed eight matches at the start of the calendar year and was left on the bench for the recent Premier League meeting with West Ham as a precaution. January signing Marc Guehi is also unavailable, but for a different reason.
Having joined from Crystal Palace on January 19, the England international is cup tied after completing his move six days after City had played the first leg of their semi-final with Newcastle United, a rule Pep Guardiola has criticised for leaving his squad short-handed.
