Man City player ratings vs Newcastle: Haaland assists as O'Reilly stars

Nico O'Reilly continued his incredible season with a brilliant opener and a headed second as Manchester City beat Newcastle 2-1, cutting the gap with Arsenal in the Premier League title race to two points. Lewis Hall levelled before O'Reilly restored the lead from a fine Erling Haaland cross; it was Haaland's seventh assist of the campaign, with only Bruno Fernandes creating more.

Newcastle defender Dan Burn had a goal ruled out for offside before half-time. City dominated the first period but struggled to control the game after the break and had to withstand late pressure, surviving a dangerous spell in added time while goalkeeper Nick Pope caused havoc in the box.
