Man in his 50s found dead after tree falls on caravan in Helston
Independent.co reports a man in his 50s has been found dead after a tree fell on to a caravan in the Mawgan area of Helston, Devon and Cornwall Police said. Emergency services were called at around 7.35pm on Thursday and work took place on Friday to remove the tree. The incident followed Storm Goretti, which brought winds of almost 100mph and prompted a rare red warning for the South West. Yellow warnings for snow and ice remain in force and National Rail warned of possible weekend disruption across England, Wales and Scotland. Forecasters warned that melting snow and rain will increase flood risk, with recorded snow depths including 15cm at Lake Vyrnwy, 7cm at Preston Montford, 27cm at Altnaharra, 26cm at Loch Glascarnoch and 22cm at Durris.
