Man killed after reportedly intervening when someone cut a gas-station bathroom line
People reports that Danny Lyn Kaster, 52, was found shot near 4400 East Oak Street in Phoenix after officers responded around 7:45 a.m. local time on Jan. 16, the Phoenix Police Department said.
Kaster had been waiting to use the bathroom at a QuikTrip when 25-year-old Deondre Franklin allegedly tried to cut the line, Danny’s sister, Delca Kaster, told Fox 13. When Danny intervened, Phoenix police said, Franklin allegedly shot him at least once. The Phoenix Fire Department transported Kaster to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and homicide detectives arrived to investigate.
On Jan. 17, Franklin was arrested in connection with the killing, according to police, and court records show he was booked on one count of murder in the second degree. Family members told Fox 13 they are “still honestly in shock,” described Kaster as generous and caring, and a GoFundMe page was created to help the family with funeral expenses.
