Man of Tomorrow cast and characters confirmed
Man of Tomorrow, written and directed by James Gunn, continues the DCU’s Superman story. Filming is set to begin in April 2026 ahead of a 2027 release. David Corenswet returns as Clark Kent/Superman, who, after uncovering the dark truth about his Kryptonian parents while affirming his adopted human family, faces an alien threat and will test his belief in humanity by teaming up with Lex Luthor.
Nicholas Hoult plays Lex Luthor in what Gunn has called a two-hander between the two characters, with promotional art featuring Luthor’s green-and-purple war suit. Rachel Brosnahan returns as Lois Lane, whose relationship with Superman will continue to grow and likely be strained by the arrival of Brainiac and the uneasy alliance with Luthor.
German actor Lars Eidinger has been cast as Brainiac, marking the villain’s live-action feature debut; Gunn says he is drawing from Brainiac’s broad history rather than a single comic.
