Man Utd target four summer signings as Casemiro prepares to leave
Manchester United are preparing for a transformative summer window and have identified four key areas to strengthen. With Casemiro set to depart at the end of his contract, the club is scouring the Premier League to balance the squad’s age profile while adding depth for a potential return to the Champions League.
The backroom team led by Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox is planning a major recruitment drive. Central midfield is the priority, with the club aiming to sign two players to bolster just three senior options and provide competition for Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte.
The plan also targets a left-sided defender, a centre-back and a backup goalkeeper. Interim head coach Michael Carrick has addressed Casemiro’s exit, saying the decision makes things easier and praising his impact, influence and big moments. Carrick added that players come and go and replacements do not have to be like for like, with the squad balance to be judged on leadership, position and other factors.
