Marathon’s First Major Update Improves Ammo, AI and Reward Pass
On March 11 Bungie released update 1.0.0.4 for Marathon, the game’s first major post-launch tweak. It doesn’t add new maps or characters, but the patch includes a range of adjustments aimed at making runs a bit easier while preserving the extraction shooter’s bite.
The update increases starting ammo in some free sponsored kits, adds more Med Cabinets and Munitions Crates on Perimeter, and makes quest objectives appear at 20 meters instead of 10. A bug that prevented Rook from showing on the map has also been fixed. UESC combatants received small reductions to health and boss shield HP so bullets and meds go a little further: “The goal here is to allow your bullets and meds to go further without reducing too much of the UESCs bite,” Bungie wrote, adding they’ve heard player feedback and do not plan to eliminate the opponent’s friction.
Bungie also committed to improving Marathon’s Rewards Pass, promising additional Runner skins and more free and premium rewards later this season.
