Marc Guehi says failed Liverpool move was 'God's plan' ahead of Anfield return
Marc Guehi has no regrets about a collapsed move to Liverpool last summer and says it was “God’s plan” that he ended up at Manchester City. The former Crystal Palace captain joined Pep Guardiola’s side in January for around £20 million and has quickly become a regular in the starting lineup as he pursues a first Premier League title.
Guehi will visit Anfield for the first time since the transfer saga, aware that anything but a win would leave City scrambling behind league leaders Arsenal. He reflected that the club’s clear interest and the project they outlined convinced him to move, and that he has already “learned so much” from the players, staff and manager despite arriving only weeks ago.
The defender also noted his pride in leading Palace to their first FA Cup triumph at Wembley, a match in which he faced his new club.
