March Pixel Drop brings eight upgrades for Android phones
The March Pixel Drop adds features to Pixel phones and watches, but many of the largest updates are rolling out to all Android devices. Highlights include simpler location sharing, tools to help find lost luggage at airports, and upgrades to Pixel’s At A Glance home screen.
All Android users can now share real-time location directly in Google Messages instead of a one-time static point, making it easier to meet someone in a crowd for a set period. Android also gains the ability to share a Find Hub link with participating airlines to help locate a tracked bag more quickly.
Other additions include Google Play Shorts for discovering apps through short-form videos and a new calling card that shows your chosen photo, font and color during calls. Pixel-specific At A Glance improvements bring real-time transit updates for commutes, live scores for followed teams and end-of-day updates from top movers in your Google Finance watchlist.
