Manchester City kept their hopes of winning four trophies alive by coming from behind to beat Newcastle 3-1 in the FA Cup fifth round. Omar Marmoush scored twice in the second half after Savinho had levelled Harvey Barnes' opener. Newcastle started the brighter: Nick Woltemade nodded a header that Nico Gonzalez cleared off the line before Barnes slipped behind the City offside trap and curled a finish past James Trafford into the top corner.

City gradually grew into the game, with Savinho forcing Aaron Ramsdale into a near-post save and Jeremy Doku's cross being forced over the line. Seconds into the second half Savinho and Matheus Nunes combined down the right, and Nunes' delivery found Marmoush, who converted before testing Ramsdale from distance.

Marmoush later turned and lashed in a second from the edge of the box after another Nunes run, completing his seventh goal in five games against Newcastle and securing City's place in the quarter-final draw.
