Marty Supreme surpasses Midway with $57.5 million domestic haul
Collider reports that Marty Supreme has earned $57.5 million at the domestic box office, pushing it past Midway’s $56.8 million total as the film prepares to enter its third full weekend in theaters.
The A24 release holds 94% from critics and 83% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes and is being eyed as a major Oscars contender. During its opening weekend it more than doubled the collective total of Dwayne Johnson’s A24 release The Smashing Machine, is already one of A24’s top five highest-grossing movies, and is poised to become the studio’s only film to reach $100 million domestically while fighting a reported $70 million budget. A24 is hopeful the film will generate awards momentum, with particular attention on Timothée Chalamet’s lead performance; the outlet also noted Everything Everywhere All at Once remains A24’s biggest Oscar and box-office success.
Marty Supreme is not yet available on streaming and remains in theaters; it is expected to move to VOD platforms such as Prime Video and Apple TV for $5 to $20 after its theatrical run, and then to HBO Max roughly two months later, with a likely arrival near the end of February or early March. The film’s listed release date is December 19, 2025, with a runtime of 150 minutes and Josh Safdie credited as director, alongside writers Ronald Bronstein and Josh Safdie and a slate of producers named in the credits.
