Marvel Rivals adds 'Victim Compensation Protocol' to curb match-throwing
Marvel Rivals maker NetEase has implemented a 'Victim Compensation Protocol' as a major upgrade to its anti-throwing system after waves of people were paid to deliberately lose and sabotage matches.
A third-party bounty website began offering payments to players of several competitive games to intentionally throw matches. Those paid bounties proved particularly disruptive in Marvel Rivals, prompting NetEase to take action and the website to stop accepting bounties.
NetEase urged players to keep reporting violations: "We encourage all players to continue reporting violations. Stay vigilant, keep fighting for justice, and let’s defend the integrity of our Chronoverse, side by side!"
