Mass Effect executive seeks production director for next game
Pcgamer reported that Mass Effect executive producer Michael Gamble posted on X seeking a production director for the next game in the series: "Hi, I’m hiring a very important senior leadership role," Gamble wrote. "They’ll report to me and it’s gonna be awesome." The job description says the role must "act as a strategic bridge between creative intent and development execution," provide leadership across the full development lifecycle, build and sustain coalitions across creative, technical, production, and partner teams, break down complex goals into actionable components, identify and mitigate risks, represent the project in communications with studio leadership and external stakeholders, and establish clear objectives, transparency, and accountability.
The posting requires at least 10 years of game-dev experience "including senior-level leadership on multiple large-scale AAA titles," expertise in RPG and action RPG genres, and a "strong executive presence with an influence-based leadership style." The article noted the author expressed doubts about Mass Effect 5's prospects because of the Andromeda debacle, BioWare's dismantling after Dragon Age: The Veilguard missed expectations, and EA's upcoming acquisition by Saudi Arabia.
