Back in 2018, Matt Damon appeared in a pretaped "Oscar Host Auditions" sketch on Saturday Night Live. The ensemble bit gave each member of the Season 44 cast a moment to showcase celebrity impressions, and Damon emerged as the standout with two unforgettable turns.

He transformed into an eerily accurate Chris Hemsworth, nailing the Aussie accent and cadence. Damon delivered the line, "Host the Oscars? Why would anyone want to look at me?" and closed the bit with a knowing wink to the camera. Near the end of the sketch he shifted into a spot-on Matthew McConaughey impression, complete with hair and delivery.

He delivered the extended line, "First of all, here's what happened," he said. "I was talking to my hero, who is me in ten years. He said, 'Matthew, you're gonna host the Academy Awards.' What I didn't realize is I was talking to myself in six years, and what I was actually saying was ten years ago, you're gonna win an Academy Award.
