Matt Damon’s The Talented Mr. Ripley Leaves Netflix

Tom Ripley has been adapted many times, but Matt Damon’s take in Anthony Minghella’s The Talented Mr. Ripley remains the most well-known. Minghella framed Patricia Highsmith’s story as a psychological thriller set in 1950s Italy, exploring identity and class envy.

The film features a breakout turn from Jude Law as Dickie Greenleaf and strong support from Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Fans hoping to revisit the film or see it for the first time face disappointment: The Talented Mr. Ripley has lost its home at Netflix and is no longer streaming on the service.
