Matt Rodrigues makes brief cameo in One Chicago crossover

The three-part crossover between Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. included a brief cameo from news anchor Matt Rodrigues, who appeared as himself during the event's fallout. The crossover opened with a mass casualty incident after a nerve agent exploded inside a drug mule on a commercial flight bound for Chicago, leaving more than a hundred passengers dead.

Firefighters who entered the plane suffered second‑hand contamination, the FBI became involved amid terrorism concerns, and one young firefighter later died, prompting reporters to converge on Gaffney for answers. At a tense press conference, Rodrigues pressed Gaffney director Sharon Goodwin for information.

"Ms. Goodwin, we’re hearing that a first responder has already died," he asked. Goodwin replied, "No comment at this time," later adding, "We’ll issue a statement shortly" and "Right now we are actively treating patients." Rodrigues has appeared on Chicago Med before, including Season 10, Episode 15 ("Down in a Hole").
