Maul: Shadow Lord introduces Zabrak brothers Scorn and Icarus

Sam Witwer returns as ex-Sith Lord Darth Maul in Maul: Shadow Lord, which arrives on Disney Plus this April 4. The latest trailer shows the Zabrak staying one step ahead of police detective Captain Brander Lawson and his droid partner Two Boots, while also confronting Sith Inquisitors such as Marrok and the Eleventh Brother.

One standout in the trailer is a group of rocket-launcher-wielding Zabraks who appear to be taking the fight to the Empire. The official Star Wars website names two of them Scorn and Icarus; they are brothers, and Icarus is voiced by Steve Blum. Little else is known, but their design feels built for toys and the kind of obscure-character fandom Tumblr coined "Glup Shitto." Tumblr user gomjabbar coined the term "Glup Shitto" in 2020 to tease fans who get excited over cameos from minor characters with silly names.

Star Wars has long embraced odd monikers — from Kit Fisto and Sy Snootles to Keef Girgo — and even brief appearances can stick with viewers.
