McDonald's tests menu changes for customers using GLP-1 drugs — Businessinsider

McDonald’s is evaluating how to serve a growing number of customers taking GLP-1 weight-loss drugs. On a Wednesday earnings call, executives said they are testing menu items to respond as adoption grows and consumer behavior shifts. CEO Chris Kempczinski said GLP-1 users tend to have suppressed appetites and a preference for protein-rich foods, and noted McDonald’s already offers high-protein options.

Vice president Jill McDonald highlighted items such as Snack Wraps, the Sausage Biscuit, and chicken McCrispy Strips. Kempczinski added the company is seeing less snacking and changes in beverage choices, including fewer sugary drinks, and that those trends are shaping experiments and tests.

Jill McDonald said the team has ideas for how to better serve customers on GLP-1 drugs over the long term but did not provide further details.
