Meow Wolf launched a Kickstarter for Tavers: The Meow Wolf Roleplaying Game on March 4 and more than doubled its $50,000 goal within the first 24 hours. The arts company operates five immersive installations across the U.S., and Tavers offers a way to explore that world without visiting locations such as Las Vegas or Houston.

The game was designed by Exalted Funeral, the publishers behind Land of Eem and Monty Python’s Cocurricular Medieaval Reenactment Programme. Players take the roles of tavers, people who open portals and bend reality by harnessing raw creative energy. The core book includes five story arcs featuring characters and locations from Meow Wolf’s installations, including space truckers, slimes and a transdimensional hamster kaiju.

Tavers includes pregenerated characters and streamlined rules to help Meow Wolf fans who are new to tabletop roleplaying, while also welcoming players who prefer worldbuilding and narrative-focused play without prior Meow Wolf knowledge.
