Meta product managers rebrand as 'AI builders', shifting roles
Some product managers at Meta are adopting the label "AI Builder," reflecting a shift in who builds software inside the company. Jeremie Guedj announced the change in a LinkedIn post, saying that while his internal title still reads product manager, his work is now full-time building with AI on what he called an "AI-native team." At least one other product manager and several Meta engineers have started using "AI Builder" in their profiles.
The change echoes comments made by CEO Mark Zuckerberg that 2026 is when AI tools would meaningfully reshape how work gets done at Meta. "We're investing in AI-native tooling, so individuals at Meta can get more done," he said. Guedj described his team as one "where data and knowledge are AI-friendly at their core, and where humans and AI agents work together, synchronously and asynchronously." Meta did not respond to a request for comment.
"AI builder" is not yet a formal designation.
