Metal Gear series passes 65 million sales after Delta: Snake Eater remake
Konami has been slowly reviving the Metal Gear series since the departure of creator Hideo Kojima, after a five-year hiatus (eight years if you discount Metal Gear Survive). 2023 brought the Master Collection Vol. 1, which launched with a few issues but is now regarded as an excellent package, and last year saw the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a full remake of one of the series' most beloved entries.
Delta largely delivered. It can feel overly faithful in places and there are signs Konami remains cautious about fully unleashing its creatives, but the remake demonstrated the studio can still produce a great Metal Gear game. A sales breakdown on Konami's corporate website shows the franchise has now passed 65 million games sold.
