Michael Owen delivered a harsh assessment of Milos Kerkez after Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat at Wolves, saying the £40 million summer signing from Bournemouth appears overwhelmed by life at Anfield and urging Arne Slot to restore veteran Andy Robertson. The result at Molineux dealt a blow to Liverpool’s hopes of finishing in the top four and has intensified scrutiny of the recent squad overhaul, particularly at full-back.

Despite dominating possession for long spells, Liverpool were exposed on the break. Rodrigo Gomes gave Wolves a surprise lead, Mohamed Salah levelled with seven minutes of regulation time remaining, and a deflected strike from Andre in stoppage time handed Wolves all three points.

The loss leaves Liverpool in fifth and at risk of slipping further in the Champions League race. Speaking for Premier League Productions, Owen said he could not warm to Kerkez and questioned the Hungarian’s ability to cope with pressure.
