Mickey Rourke kicked out of Los Angeles rental after default judgment
Court documents show Mickey Rourke’s rented Drexel Ave. home is back under the control of landlord Eric T. Goldie. The judgment was filed Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court by default, meaning the “Celebrity Big Brother UK” alum likely failed to appear or respond to the complaint before the court deadline.
The lease on the Spanish-style bungalow has been forfeited, and the order grants possession of the residence rather than damages. A December filing had demanded Rourke vacate within three days or pay $59,100 in back rent. He was later seen removing belongings in January, with a U-Haul appearing in the driveway a day later, and was said to be staying in an upscale West Hollywood hotel, with rooms starting at $550 a night.
A GoFundMe launched in his name by Liya-Joelle Jones sought $100,000 to prevent the eviction, but Rourke denied any involvement. In an Instagram video he called himself "confused" and "frustrated," insisted he didn’t ask for "f–king charity," and said he has "too much pride" to seek that kind of help.
