Microsoft CEO says he treats AI agents as users
Speaking to Morgan Stanley about Microsoft 365's total addressable market, CEO Satya Nadella said he "looks at all agents as users" when considering the company's opportunities. Asked whether the "agentic future" will mean more human users or more autonomous agents, he did not give a simple answer but added: "From a TAM-expansive perspective for us, I look at all agents as users and with maybe more flexibility on how people license that." Microsoft has suggested that "Windows is evolving into an agentic OS," implying parts of the operating system could give Copilot agents autonomy to perform tasks for you — for example, rummaging through local files with your permission and operating in their own workspace.
