Mike Flanagan Reunites 11 Regulars for The Exorcist Reboot
Mike Flanagan has gathered many of his regular collaborators for the reboot of The Exorcist. Scarlett Johansson is set to lead, with Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, John Leguizamo, Jacobi Jupe and Sasha Calle already attached. Flanagan has added 11 more cast members: Rahul Kohli, Hamish Linklater, Gil Bellows, Carl Lumbly, Robert Longstreet, Matt Biedel, Samantha Sloyan, Kate Siegel, John Gallagher Jr., Benjamin Pajak and Carla Gugino.
Those names will be familiar to fans of Flanagan’s work, having appeared across projects such as Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Midnight Club, Oculus, Hush, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Gerald’s Game and The Life of Chuck.
No character details have been released, and suggestions — including that Jupe might play Johansson’s son — remain fan conjecture. Flanagan is writing and directing a new story set in The Exorcist universe rather than a sequel to 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer.
