Milan 3-1 Torino: Fofana and Rabiot on target as Simeone nearly scores
Torino started strongly, pressing Milan and creating an early chance for Gineitis whose shot was blocked. Pavlovic rose highest from a corner and the ball went wide, while Tomori picked up the first booking for stopping a counter by fouling Gineitis. Maignan then tipped Ismaijli’s dangerous header over for a corner, and a long-range effort from Gineitis was deflected but the keeper remained alert.
Rabiot thundered in a shot that Paleari parried, and shortly after Pavlovic produced a stunning goal that beat Paleari, hit the crossbar and nest led in. Zapata turned in the penalty area only for Maignan to save, and a Pedersen attempt was later ruled out for offside at the start of the move.
Vlasic then levelled when Maignan’s parry fell onto the post and Simeone was quickest to tap in. At the start of the second half Athekame came on for the booked Tomori. Milan were put back in front when Modric played a brilliant through ball, Pulisic crossed and Rabiot finished into an open goal.
