Milan's Allegri: Aim is the Champions League, or we risk undoing everything
Massimiliano Allegri spoke to DAZN after Milan’s defeat in Rome to Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio, saying the match was always going to be tough with the fans back and Lazio putting in a strong performance.
He noted Lazio ran a lot and dropped off in the second half, but Milan did not score. "Everyone was talking about the title after Inter’s draw, but we have to be realistic: we’re doing well, but the objective is the Champions League – otherwise we risk undoing everything we’ve built."
Allegri said Leo was frustrated after being poorly served on two occasions, adding that everyone wanted to win and that taking points here would have helped pull clear of the teams behind.
The coach highlighted first-half technical errors and too many counter-attacks, saying they were caught out by a long ball for the goal and had too many players ahead of the ball. In the second half the team stepped up the pace and won more one-on-one duels, but they still could not find a goal.
