Milan are searching for a major defensive signing, and Bayern Munich centre-back Kim Min-jae has re-emerged as a possibility. He broke through at Napoli, won the Scudetto, and moved to Germany two years ago for nearly €60 million, but has since struggled at Bayern.

Allegri has been promised reinforcements at centre-back and likes the idea of signing Kim. The South Korean defender has extensive international experience and could readapt to Serie A quickly, even though he spent only one season in Italy.

At Bayern, Kim's path is blocked by Upamecano's recent contract extension and by Tah, prompting him to consider a summer exit. Milan hope he will accept a lower salary — from his current €12 million to around €7 million — as part of a potential move.

The financial hurdle remains significant: Bayern's asking price currently stands at over €30 million, and Milan are relying on a reduction in that fee. Given the wage gap and the transfer valuation, the deal looks unlikely.
