MindsEye studio lays off staff as CEO blames 'criminal activity'
MindsEye’s troubled launch last June saw co-CEO Mark Gerhard claim the negative reception was a targeted campaign "100 percent" funded by an ominous outsider. Some players received refunds for the bug-filled game, damage-control attempts failed, and the studio cut staff shortly after launch.
Remaining developers released a sizable update last month, but the game’s highest concurrent peak in the month since the update was just 80 players on Steam. Build a Rocket Boy has announced another round of layoffs, and Gerhard has again suggested outside interference contributed to the game's failure.
