Minecraft Dungeons 2 announced for PC and consoles later this year
Mojang Studios announced Minecraft Dungeons 2 at Minecraft Live 2026 with a brief trailer. The loot-filled action-RPG is coming later this year to PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2; it also appears on the original Switch, while PS4 and Xbox One versions do not seem to be planned.
Details remain scarce, but the first game was a surprisingly great and approachable take on Diablo's formula. It played as a top-down co-op ARPG that had players clicking on enemies and buildcrafting, and its simplicity made it a good introduction to the subgenre.
The sequel's Steam page warns, "A hero's work is never done! Disorder is brewing, and the world stands before a threat unlike any other." It promises more "high‑stakes encounters, thrilling challenges, and never‑before‑seen locations, as you set out to save a world in crisis." A press release adds that "there will also be loot," continuing, "Loads of it.
