The Minecraft umbrella now includes a string of games and a Jack Black movie, and one of its spinoffs, Minecraft Dungeons, is getting a surprise sequel planned for sometime this year. There’s no gameplay to watch yet: the new Steam page offers only screenshots from a cinematic and the announcement trailer shows little beyond that.

The original didn’t reinvent the ARPG, but it earned plenty of positive scores around the 7/10 mark and built a steady fanbase. It was described as “baby’s first Diablo,” and seemed to garner more fans than its so-so action-RTS cousin. PC Gamer contributor Rachel Watts wrote that "it doesn't have anything in particular that makes it stand out, but it's a fun, streamlined take on the dungeon crawl genre," and Mojang has continued to pursue spinoffs despite Legends’ mixed reception.
