Minecraft's Chaos Cubed drop adds Sulfur caves

Minecraft has shared the first features of its next drop of 2026, before the first is even through the door. In the Minecraft Live March 2026 stream, the Chaos Cubed drop was revealed.

The headline addition is the Sulfur caves, a brand-new underground biome that plans to shake up the caving experience. Rather than pools of water and the occasional lava flow, players will encounter noxious poison pools that cause a dizzying effect if approached.

The poison pools are visually deceptive—the water looks only slightly off rather than clearly toxic. The drop will also bring new blocks and a mob, and the Sulfur caves include two new block sets, cinnabar and sulfur.
