Mod makes Resident Evil Requiem's Insanity mode bites infectious
If you’re among the 9.2% of Steam players who've already beaten Resident Evil Requiem on the unlockable Insanity difficulty, a new mod offers a tougher way to pass the time until Capcom’s upcoming story DLC — and, perhaps, a mercenaries mode (the developers even zoomed in on Koshi Nakanishi's face when he said “mini game,” suggesting mercenaries).
Bites Matter—Infection makes zombie bites genuinely dangerous: each bite grants an infection stack that accelerates health drain, and the infection can grow over time until treated. Mixing green herbs removes stacks — three herbs will cure all but one stack and grant 30 minutes of temporary relief — and there’s an option to let a med injector fully cure the infection, though that option is disabled by default.
The Resident Evil series has rarely made bite infections a gameplay element outside the Outbreak games and cutscenes; this mod brings that survival detail into Requiem, raising the stakes for every close encounter.
