Monarch Season 2 Sets Up a Rift With Apex

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has landed an 82% score on Rotten Tomatoes and expanded its roster of Titans, bringing icons like Godzilla and King Kong into season two alongside a new threat: the amphibious "Titan X," trapped in the Axis Mundi and introduced in the premiere "Cause and Effect," where it kills Monarch deputy director Natalia Verdugo.

Verdugo's death raises immediate questions about who now runs Monarch. An acting director is implied, and the name Barris surfaces in the episode "Resonance" when Tim tries to contact a "Director Barris." Tim, who becomes head of operations at Outpost 18 after Verdugo's death, highlights how much Monarch has changed since Lee Shaw, Keiko Miura and Bill Randa founded it in 1954.
