Monarch Season 2 Tops Apple and Climbs Prime Video's Charts
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters returned for a second season this past February and immediately claimed the top spot on Apple. The generation-hopping family drama blends sci-fi spectacle with personal stakes and premiered to positive reviews in 2023. FlixPatrol ranks Monarch as the number one show on Apple and the number three title on Prime Video domestically, trailing only Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock and the controversial Melania documentary.
It is outperforming Prime Video titles such as 56 Days and Fallout, and films including The Bluff and The Wrecking Crew. The series features Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell as the same character at different ages, with Anna Sawai among the leads. Set in the MonsterVerse, Monarch is the franchise's first live-action offshoot after a string of big-screen hits that have grossed more than $2 billion in combined box office revenue worldwide.
Monarch holds an overall 82% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and the second season is Certified Fresh at 79%.
