Monster Hunter Stories 3 main story will take 30–50 hours

Although the series swaps action-RPG combat for turn-based JRPG battles, Monster Hunter Stories still shares a hallmark of the main franchise: a hefty amount of content and a substantial endgame grind. Game director Kenji Oguro told 4Gamer (translation via Automaton) that a main-quest playthrough takes around 30 hours, which he described as a rushed run.

Executive producer Ryozo Tsujimoto said some playtesters spent over 50 hours finishing the game, with typical playtimes ranging from 40 to 50 hours. Those numbers line up with previous entries. HowLongToBeat lists a rushed playthrough of the original at 35 hours and 50 hours when including more sidequests, while Monster Hunter Stories 2 averages between 41 and 61 hours.

Either game’s total time can double or go further for players aiming to see everything.
