‘Most of us spoke’: Gyökeres says frank talks fired Arsenal derby win

Viktor Gyökeres has revealed that Arsenal’s brutally honest team discussions after the draw at Wolves brought renewed purpose and helped them secure a restorative win at Tottenham on Sunday. He produced arguably his best performance for Arsenal in the 4-1 derby, threatening from start to finish and scoring two goals, the perfect response to the Wolves game in which they surrendered a 2-0 lead for a 2-2 draw.

Declan Rice said there had been a "firm chat" between the players after the game at Molineux, and when the squad reconvened for a regular team meeting on Friday many still had things to get off their chests. "Most of us spoke," the striker said. "It’s important sometimes just to say what you feel and to let it out in the group.
