Most PlayStation 5 Owners Still Play the Same Games Since 2022
Retail tracker Circana shared the top five most-played PlayStation games in the U.S. for 2026, and the lineup is unchanged from last year. The same popular titles also dominate the lists going back to 2023 and 2022, a pattern that makes it harder for new multiplayer releases to gain traction.
Circana senior director Mat Piscatella posted the rankings and noted that Fortnite sits at the top: 56 percent of active PS5 players tried Epic’s battle royale at least once during the year. The 2025 and 2024 top five both read Fortnite, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto V, Roblox, and Minecraft.
The 2023 and 2022 lists show nearly the same games, with Apex Legends appearing in 2022; Call of Duty’s launcher also includes Warzone and other past entries. Piscatella added that only two new games broke into the extended top 10 in 2025—Battlefield 6 and Skate—one of which was the year’s best-selling game and the other free-to-play.
