The O Classico finished 2-2 after Benfica rallied from a two-goal deficit to salvage a draw against Liga Portugal leaders FC Porto. The late equaliser set off heated touchline confrontations, and manager Jose Mourinho was sent off after clashing with rival staff and making a provocative gesture while leaving the pitch.

Porto took a 2-0 lead through Victor Froholdt in the 10th minute and Oskar Pietuszewski shortly before halftime, but Benfica fought back in the second half with goals from Andreas Schjelderup and Leandro Barreiro. Controversy followed Barreiro's 89th-minute leveller, with Mourinho seen clashing with the Porto bench.

He was shown a red card and, as he made his way down the tunnel, "pushed his thumb and index finger close together in a gesture appearing to call someone small." Mourinho disputed the reason for his dismissal. "The referee said he sent me off because I kicked a ball towards the FC Porto substitutes' bench.
