Movies Parodied in Scary Movie 3
A spoof-heavy follow-up to the original Scary Movie, the third installment is often singled out as a sequel that matches or betters its predecessor. It leans on laugh-out-loud set pieces, celebrity cameos and riffs on a wide range of films, from iconic horror pictures to the cultural phenomena of its day.
Signs is one of the most obvious targets, with Charlie Sheen cast as the widower on a farm and blatantly labeled corn messages like "ATTACK HERE" pointing at the house; the film even pokes fun at M. Night Shyamalan with the line "Tom, I’ll need a ride home." The Ring is lampooned through an evil tape and its creepily named child Tabitha, culminating in a TV-crawling confrontation where Brenda wrestles a water-soaked Tabitha and a classic ring becomes a noisy toilet gag.
Scary Movie 3 also spoofs 8 Mile by turning George into an aspiring white rapper who battle-raps Fat Joe and hangs out with Mahalik and CJ, and briefly satirizes Eminem and Joaquin Phoenix.
