MSI debuts Prestige AI+ and Modern ultraportables at CES 2026
MSI introduced two new business-focused laptop lineups at CES 2026: the flagship Prestige AI+ series and the more affordable Modern series, both built around Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 "Panther Lake" processors. The Prestige AI+ family includes 13-, 14- and 16-inch models, with the 14- and 16-inch offered as clamshells or 2-in-1 convertibles.
MSI says the Prestige line features standard OLED displays, Intel graphics, up to 64GB of LPDDR5x dual-channel RAM and 2.8K OLED panels with 120Hz variable refresh rates. The Modern series is available as 14- and 16-inch clamshells, uses Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 chips, and offers OLED or IPS displays with more modest memory options starting at 16GB and scaling to 32GB.
ZDNET's hands-on preview described the laptops as sleek and minimalist, with all-metal builds, large trackpads and vivid screens. The Prestige 13 AI+ was noted as particularly light at 1.98 pounds (899 grams) with a 2.8K OLED display; MSI quoted up to 19 hours of video playback for a model with a 75Wh cell.
The 14- and 16-inch Prestige models weigh about 2.9 pounds and 3.5 pounds respectively and use Intel Core Ultra X9, 9, or 7 processors, while the Modern 14 is about 2.8 pounds and can be as thin as 0.43 inches. MSI has not provided exact pricing; ZDNET was cited a ballpark starting price of $1,099 for the Modern series.
