Musk Delayed Grok Update Over Baldur’s Gate 3 Mistakes
Elon Musk postponed a major update to Grok after the xAI chatbot repeatedly mishandled detailed questions about Baldur’s Gate 3, a recent Business Insider deep-dive described.
Senior engineers were pulled from other projects to improve the chatbot’s responses, and the model release was pushed back by several days while the team worked on fixes.
The investigation also described multiple “war rooms” at xAI’s Palo Alto headquarters handling urgent issues; at the end of 2025, at least five war rooms were running simultaneously, including one focused on teaching Grok how to play League of Legends.
This activity came the year after Musk was exposed as a cheater in games like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2, and while Baldur’s Gate 3’s publishing head criticized Musk’s promises of AI-generated video games as missing the point.
