MWC 2026: foldables, a robot phone and Leica-branded handset
Mobile World Congress runs from March 2 to March 5, with many manufacturers announcing products during the weekend beforehand. The show is shifting attention from the latest Samsung and Google flagships toward broader trends and new hardware, and exhibitors including Xiaomi and Honor are dominating the floor.
Tickets for general access are priced at about $1,028. Honor revealed the Magic V6 foldable, which measures 8.75mm when closed and carries IP68 and IP69 water and dust ratings. It uses a silicon-carbon material to house a 6,660mAh battery—substantially larger than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh—and its inner and outer displays reach peak HDR brightnesses of roughly 5,000 and 6,000 nits.
The phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Also on display from Honor was the Robot Phone, a slab-like handset with a rotating camera gimbal that enables body-tracking and more-stable recording, along with playful gestures such as nods and dances.
