Nansen to Set Up Operations in Bhutan's Gelephu Mindfulness City
On-chain analytics firm Nansen will establish an operational presence in Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City, incorporating a local entity, hiring a Bhutan-based team and developing on-the-ground analytics to support the region’s growing digital asset infrastructure.
The move advances the Himalayan kingdom’s effort to build a sovereign-backed digital asset ecosystem. CEO Alex Svanevik said the step is an expansion from Singapore rather than a headquarters relocation. "We’re not leaving Singapore — this is an additional entity," he said, adding that GMC was chosen for its vision as a values-driven economic zone that integrates digital assets into its foundation.
Gelephu Mindfulness City, a purpose-built special administrative region in southern Bhutan focused on sustainable development, has drawn attention for holding crypto in its strategic reserves and for designing a regulatory framework tailored to digital assets.
