NASA launches COMPASS collaborations under ROSES-25; proposals due 20 March 2026
NASA on 16 January 2026 announced ROSES-25: F.19 Collaborative Opportunities for Mentorship, Partnership, and Academic Success in Science (COMPASS), a program soliciting collaborations between NASA Centers and academic institutions; proposals are due 20 March 2026.
COMPASS funds collaborations that will advance NASA’s scientific priorities and train the future STEM workforce. The program prioritizes partnerships with academic institutions that have not traditionally been funded by NASA, aiming to broaden the range of recipients rather than fund a select group of repeat players. COMPASS also prioritizes research that reflects NASA and the Administration’s priorities and advances the Science Mission Directorate and NASA’s research goals, and it creates undergraduate and graduate student research and professional development opportunities to help build the United States’ STEM workforce.
ROSES-2025 Amendment 36 presents this new program element in ROSES-2025. Notices of Intent are not requested; questions concerning F.19 COMPASS should be directed to Steven Villanueva at steven.villanueva@nasa.gov.
