NASA delays Astrophysics Pioneers due dates in ROSES-2025 Amendment 38
NASA has issued Amendment 38 to the Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2025 announcement, delaying due dates for the D.5 Astrophysics Pioneers solicitation.
D.5 Astrophysics Pioneers solicits proposals for astrophysics space and sub-orbital science investigations that are greater in cost, scope, and capability than possible within the Astrophysics Research and Analysis suborbital and CubeSat program but smaller in cost than the Astrophysics Explorers Mission of Opportunity program. Investigations may use platforms including CubeSats (including constellations), other SmallSats, and major balloon missions. Technology development and maturation within a proposed project is allowed, but the primary review criterion for selection is the merit of the proposed science investigation.
The amendment delays the due dates and makes three small changes to Section 5.3. Mandatory Notices of Intent are now due February 11, 2026, and full proposals are now due April 2, 2026. The amendment text will show new text in bold and deleted text struck through.
On or about January 14, 2026, this Amendment to ROSES-2025 (NNH25ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2025. Programmatic questions concerning D.5 Astrophysics Pioneers may be directed to Pablo Saz Parkinson at pablo.sazparkinson@nasa.gov.
