Nebius stock jumps after $27 billion AI compute deal with Meta
Nebius shares jumped 15% on Monday after the company announced a $27 billion deal to provide AI compute capacity to Meta over the next five years. The move extended a week of gains, leaving the Dutch tech company's stock up 35% year to date. The agreement begins with $12 billion of dedicated capacity across multiple locations, scheduled to start early in 2027.
Nebius said it will build large-scale AI clusters using Vera Rubin hardware made by Nvidia, to which Meta will have exclusive access. Meta also committed to buying up to $15 billion in additional compute capacity over five years. Nebius plans to sell any extra capacity to other customers, but if buyers cannot be found Meta will purchase it.
"We are pleased to expand our significant partnership with Meta as part of securing more large, long-term capacity contracts to accelerate the build-out and growth of our core AI cloud business. We will continue to deliver," said Nebius CEO Arkady Volozh. The deal follows a $17 billion agreement with Microsoft months earlier.
