NetEase to add detection system to punish Marvel Rivals 'lord farming' exploit
Gamesradar reports NetEase says it will add a new "combat behavior detection system" to Marvel Rivals to crack down on players exploiting the game's proficiency system.
In a tweet, NetEase warned about the exploit often called "lord farming," which involves remaining in spawn and spamming skills to farm proficiency points. The developer said the practice has been around for a long time but has increased in frequency since last week's update, and noted the top prize for maxing proficiency is the Lord icon. NetEase wrote, "Recently, we’ve noticed that some players are exploiting matches by remaining stationary and repeatedly farming stats to gain hero proficiency points. This behavior disrupts normal gameplay and seriously affects the match experience of other players."
NetEase said it will take action and suggested punishments including "warnings" and potentially "permanent account bans," and asked players to help maintain a fair and healthy game environment. The company's announcement signals planned enforcement but did not provide a timeline for deploying the detection system.
