Netflix's 2-Part 'TikTok Killer' Is a Compelling True Crime Doc
Netflix's true-crime catalog keeps expanding, and its newest entry is a two-part docuseries titled The TikTok Killer. The series offers a gripping chronicle of one of Spain's most horrific recent crimes and becomes addictive in a matter of minutes. The story follows 42-year-old drifter Esther Estepa, who vanishes after a trip.
Her mother, Pepa, appears in the film trying to reach her daughter with messages that are included in the documentary; Esther eventually stops replying to texts and voice notes. Her mother and sister press authorities to begin a search, and attention shifts to José Jurado Montilla, known online as Dinamita Montilla, an influencer who documented his travels and claimed to have been with Esther.
Episode 1 centers on Esther's disappearance and only hints at Jurado's involvement, while Episode 2 advances the investigation. The closing ten minutes are described as disturbing and poignant.
