Netflix is set to release all 205 episodes of All in the Family, rolling them out in two major parts and two minor parts. New viewers will have the chance to discover a sitcom that helped change what network television could address, while longtime fans can revisit many of its memorable moments.

The series, developed by Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin and based on the British comedy Till Death Us Do Part, premiered in 1971 and upended sitcom conventions. Placing viewers in Archie Bunker’s Queens apartment, the show tackled topics such as racism, sexism, the Vietnam War, women’s liberation and generational conflict, and it dominated the ratings for five consecutive years in the early 1970s.

At the center of the show is Archie Bunker, often described as a “lovable bigot”—stubborn and frequently offensive, yet human and occasionally capable of growth.
